Get the Cert, Become the Cert

My tech career journey started when I heard that it was possible from Asia (@princessxap of In Tech She Trust). Now I have the certs and I have a resume to distribute. I am having a hard time getting interviews (or maybe a normal time and normal sucks). Asia was adamant that once you get the certifcation you have to become that person. Retention to pass the test is one thing but you have to also know the stuff on the exam so you can perform the job. How does one do that? PROJECTS! Go back and study for functional use. Learn the job description. Do the course(s) again to learn how to use it. Do labs at home.

So, up next for me is making labs and studying to show myself approved. Youtube is my friend! I also have been listening to podcasts and searching for books to read. Plus, I listen to the podcast again and again to remind myself what I’m working towards and that it’s possible. I get stuck in destructive and distracting thought patterns but listening to “it’s possible” over and over again helps me get out of them. I can totally do this. I will do this and while the days are long the weeks are short. If I stay focused I will make it to the finish line.
